Configure Network Scanning for Windows®

To use the machine as a network scanner, the machine must be configured with a TCP/IP address.
  • If you installed the machine following the instructions for a network user, then the machine should already be configured for your network.
  • If your computer is protected by a firewall and is unable to scan when connecting over the network, you may need to configure the firewall settings. If you are using Windows® Firewall and you have installed Multi-Function Suite from the CD-ROM, the necessary firewall settings have already been made.
  • For network scanning, a maximum of 25 clients can be connected to one machine on a network.

    • Specify your machine by address.

Type the machine's IP address in the IP Address field, and then click OK.

    • Specify your machine by name.

  4. Click the Scan To Button tab, and then type your computer's name in the Display Name (Max 15 characters) field. The machine's LCD displays the name you type. The default setting is your computer's name. You can type any name you like.
  5. To avoid receiving unwanted documents, type a four-digit PIN in the Pin number and Retype Pin number fields. To send data to a computer protected by a PIN, the LCD prompts you to enter the PIN before the document can be scanned and sent to the computer.
