Scan Using Nuance™ PaperPort™ 12SE or Other Windows® Applications

The Nuance™ PaperPort™ 12SE application is included in the Fuji Xerox Multi-Function Suite, for scanning.
  • The instructions for scanning in these steps are for PaperPort™ 12SE. For other Windows® applications, these steps will be similar. PaperPort™ 12SE supports both TWAIN and Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) drivers; the TWAIN driver (recommended) is used in these steps.
  • Nuance™ PaperPort™ 12SE supports Windows Vista® (SP2 or greater), Windows® 7 and Windows® 8.
  • For detailed instructions, click the Help menu, and then click Getting Started Guide in the Help ribbon.
  • For network scanning, a maximum of 25 clients can be connected to one machine on a network.
  • Network licence (Windows®)

    This product includes a licence for up to five users.

    This licence supports the installation of the Multi-Function Software Suite, including Nuance™ PaperPort™ 12SE, on up to five computers on the network.

    If you want to use more than five computers with Nuance™ PaperPort™ 12SE installed, buy the Fuji Xerox NL-5 pack, which is a multiple computer licence agreement pack for up to five additional users. To buy the NL-5 pack, contact Fuji Xerox customer service or your local Fuji Xerox dealer.

  • Depending on the model of your machine, Nuance™ PaperPort™ 12SE may not be included. If it is not included, you can use other software applications that support scanning.
  1. Load your document.
  2. Start PaperPort™ 12SE.
    Do one of the following:
    • (Windows Vista® and Windows® 7)

      Using your computer, click (Start)>All Programs>Nuance PaperPort 12>PaperPort.

    • (Windows® 8)

      Click (PaperPort).

  3. Click the Desktop menu, and then click Scan Settings in the Desktop ribbon.

    The Scan or Get Photo panel appears on the left side of the screen.

  4. Click Select.
  5. From the available Scanners list, select TWAIN: TW-Fuji Xerox FX DocuPrint XXXX or TWAIN: TW-Fuji Xerox FX DocuPrint XXXX LAN (where　XXXX is the model name of your machine). If you want to use the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) driver, select the Fuji Xerox driver that has "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" as the prefix.
  6. Select the Display scanner dialog box check box in the Scan or Get Photo panel.
  7. Click Scan.

    The Scanner Setup dialog box appears.

  8. Adjust the settings in the Scanner Setup dialog box, if needed.
  9. Click the Document Size drop-down list, and then select your document size.
    • After you select a document size, adjust the scanning area by holding down the left mouse button and dragging your mouse pointer over the portion you want to scan.

    • To scan both sides of the document (DocuPrint M265 z):

      2-sided scan is available only when using the ADF.

      You cannot adjust the scanning area.

      You cannot use PreScan to preview an image.

  10. Click PreScan button if you want to preview your image and crop unwanted portions before scanning.
  11. Click Start.

    The machine starts scanning.
