 COGWORK CURSORS (VER.02) - by Criftus
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: This file was written using the 'Terminal' font. It's crappy, I know, but I *also* know
      that everyone has it! Use it to preserve the intended format of this document. Turn off
      'Word Wrap' if you're using Notepad as well. They're both really easy to change back
      anyways ...right? ...doooo itttt... =P

<DESCRIPTION>
 I was getting bored of the default Windows cursors so I decided to make my own set. This was my
 first attempt at making any kind of icons or cursors and I didn't have anything really planned
 out, so once I'd gotten the hang of how to actually *make* a cursor and had some idea of what I
 wanted to create, this project took a little over five hours to complete.

 Why "cogwork"? Well, my first idea was to change the working animation to something that looked
 like concentric gears spinning in opposite directions. Gears have cogs... so... well, I guess
 that's really the only reason I had for the title. lol

 ...it doesn't sound *too* bad, does it? o.o

<SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS>
 Each cursor in this set was created using a 48-bit ARGB image, converted to a 32-bit ARGB for
 the actual cursor. I suspect that any version of Windows2K/XP operating at 32-bit colour depth
 or higher will be capable of using them, and I wouldn't be surprised if lower quality settings
 work as well, but as I write this file I've not tried anything else. They're all greyscale with
 an alpha layer anyways... so if your computer can only show shades of black and white this
 cursor pack is *still* probably a perfect fit for you! Awesome!

<INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS>
 1. Extract this archive using your favourite program (I recommend 7-Zip).
 2. Move the created folder into your "Windows\Cursors" folder.
 3. Execute the included "Cogwork.reg" to automatically assign these cursors as the default
    set. There are no malicious or harmful entries in this registry file. If you got this from
    DeviantART, don't worry! It's safe!
 4. Two choices here: either restart the PC or navigate to "Control Panel - Mouse".
 5. If everything was done properly, under the "Pointers" tab there should now be a "Cogwork"
    entry, and the cursors listed below should be your new set. If not, you messed up! =P
 6. Select some other random random scheme, then go back to "Cogwork", and hit apply. That's it!
    Enjoy your new cursors!

<IMPORTANT!>
 If you're missing ANY of the files above this archive has been changed and could damage your
 computer (potentially - you never know)! If you plan on distributing these cursors, *PLEASE*
 keep the original archive intact and let me know via e-mail who you are and where it will be
 hosted! Honestly though, I'd prefer it if distribution was left up to me. Thanks!

<DISCLAIMER>
 I don't think that it's really necessary for me to write an official-sounding disclaimer here,
 do you?

 Let's just say that if you downloaded this archive, you've just agreed to put yourself and
 everything that you hold dear on the line. Your computer may suddenly implode and you might
 even injure yourself from the amount of clicking you'll be doing with these cursors. Your
 significant other might leave you, your beloved pet run away, you might miss the bus or your
 car might break down. The planet might suddenly hurtle towards the sun once you install these
 files. So when your freezer stops keeping your ice cream cold enough for you, I know you'll be
 tempted to say "damn it Cogwork Cursors! Criftus, my ice cream has just melted all over the
 place and it's your fault!"

 ...you know what though? It's not my fault. Nope! They're completely harmless cursors! You must
 have done something pretty insane to have things go bad like that. Something insane, or your
 freezer is just broken.

 Aren't metaphors great? =P

 Put simply: I'm not responsible for anything that might happen as a result of using these
 cursors. I've tested everything out on my machine, and to my knowledge there's no conceivable
 way that any of these files could damage your PC, but I can imagine of someone *somehow*
 managing to accomplish this, or at least accuse me of causing something to this effect.
 Soooo ... no. If you've followed my instructions, and downloaded this archive from the above
 address, you should be good.
