GETTING STARTED
Monsters:
Hideous
Horripickle:
Half pickle and half frog, this dilly of a croaker is the pickle that eats
you! It likes to eat the naughty children first (the sweet ones are
dessert.) Don't let it spit in your eye!
Wall-Eyed Stumbloon:
The Wall-Eyed Stumbloon can see in two different directions (but can't see
where it's going.) To keep it from eating people, they tried feeding it
spaghetti, but it went in one side of the mouth and out the other.
Gasbaggius Zepp:
The low-flying Gasbaggius Zepp seeks revenge for every balloon children have
ever popped. If none of your balloons has survived to this day, watch out!
Don't go outdoors without a slingshot for protection!
Whomper Stomper:
The Whomper Stomper loves to pick fights with bad boys. It hides under the
bleachers at schools, using its ears to listen for saucy gossip, and punches
you if it's not saucy enough. It laughs when someone gets two black eyes.
Probosci-Snipe:
The Probosci-Snipe's nose grows whenever it's hungry. And right now, it's
got a craving for delicious human (it eats everything but the nose.) Run if
you hear the sound of a Probosci-Snipe: "AH-CHOO!"
Ugmo the Chomper:
Its mouth is bigger than its whole body! Ugmo the Chomper will eat anything
except rocks, unless they're covered in gravy. Unfortunately, when it eats
you, it takes a day and a half to chew you up, because it swallowed its own
teeth.
Pinchy Anklecrimper:
Beware! The Pinchy Anklecrimper could be hiding under your bed, in your
winter boots, or anywhere else your ankles might go. So, always keep your
two feet at least two feet off the floor!
Zombor-Wetsy:
An unholy fusion of skull and wind-up doll, Zombor-Wetsy can do everything
you can do, except you don't bite people. Zombor-Wetsy is tireless and will
follow you anywhere because it wants your delicious brains.
Clip-Clop
Flounder: The Clip-Clop Flounder used to be just like any other fish, but got mad when
people flushed their waste into the ocean. It thinks only fish should be
allowed to pollute the water. It climbed onto land and seeks revenge with
its dainty little fish hooves.
Wiggo:
This hairball with too many eyes loves hair of any sort. It will sneak up
behind you and eat your hair, even if you have serious split ends. Your
only defense is to shave your head, or hide behind a big-haired clown!
Leggy Egmo:
Armless but harmful, Leggy Egmo has never been able to do household chores.
It hunts down lazy children who don't use their arms, and eats them,
starting with the fingers. When not doing that, it enjoys riding its evil
unicycle.
Jack
Of All Blobs: The Jack Of All Blobs is oozy and slimy, covered in eight layers of
moistness. It likes to slither up behind people and grab their ears with
its clammy hands. That's the real reason people wear earmuffs.
Bonzar
the Boiler: Beware of Bonzar, the gourmet chef whose favorite recipes are all cream
soups: Cream of Children... Cream of Grown-Ups... Cream of Football
Team. Worst of all, it always overcooks the soup.
Yeggplant:
The Yeggplant is the most vicious vegetable monster. It can't feel pain,
but it can sure dish it out! The Yeggplant has a pointy thorn on its head,
so before you sit on anything, make sure it's not a disguised Yeggplant.
Better yet, just never sit down.
Dirty Wartybut:
The Dirty Wartybut spends all its time crawling on the ground, and is angry
that it’s so filthy. It will eat people until they learn to keep the Earth
clean and shiny so you can see your reflection in it (and put on socks to
skate around).
Ratman
Bobbin': This flying rat likes to poke its wet nose into people's ears, a process
which would be called a "wet willy" if it were more sanitary. Ratman
Bobbin' can follow people anywhere, and even chases airplanes (don’t flush
the toilet in flight)!
Eat-A-Doodle-You:
The Eat-A-Doodle-You is nature's most obnoxious animal. It will shriek at
you, then it will swallow you, and then it will shriek at you some more. It
loves noise and prefers to eat cry-babies, tattle-tales, and drummers.
Batsylwania
Bloodsucker: Bevare! The Batsylwania Bloodsucker is wery, wery ewil! It vants to suck
your blood! Also your toes! And your eyes! And your ewerything! Bevare!
Fishsquito:
The Fishsquito is the only fish that sings "mmmmmm" while it bites you. Its
bite isn't fatal, but the itching afterwards is. The only defense against a
Fishsquito is to wear a suit made of three-inch-thick metal plates, but
those itch pretty bad too.
Crazy Streptopucker:
The Crazy Streptopucker used to be perfectly sane, until it found out its
name was "Crazy Streptopucker". Now it's on a rampage, trying to kill the
humans who gave it that name. It likes to give people deep kisses -- so
deep they go clear through your body. And its little hands are all grabby.
Towers:
The objective in Monster Mash is to protect the villagers from bizarre invaders. To do this, you will need to fortify the approaching roadway with various towers. Each tower has specific strengths and weaknesses, so strategy is key.

Gold Meter/Tower Console: In the lower left corner of the game screen, you will find the gold meter and a list of the towers available to you in any given level. The number above the tower reflects the amount of gold needed to build that specific tower. Ex: To build a simple tower, you will need to have at least 8 gold in your reserve. In this example, there is 40 gold available, so you could build any of the towers, except the aura tower as that would require 50 gold.

Simple
Tower: Simple towers are the catch-all defense; they can quickly shoot
at ground and air monsters, but lack the strength of other towers and cause
little damage. They can attack one ground or one flying monster at a time,
so it is important to upgrade when possible. Since simple towers have the
largest range, build them away from the road, and build them often.
Ground
Tower: Ground towers will attack several ground monsters at a time,
causing significant damage to several of them. This tower fires only
at ground monsters within its diminished range, but packs quite a wallop, so
make sure to build them along the edge of the road where they'll be most
effective.
Air
Tower: Air towers attack several flying monsters at a time and are
extremely powerful. Since they have a smaller range, they are most effective
along the edge of the road and will only defend your village against
flying monsters.
Aura
Tower: Aura towers are very valuable when planning your defense. They make the
adjoining towers much stronger and will increase their
firing rate and damage dealt.
Slowing
Tower: This tower will temporarily slow down the monsters while shooting
them. They are best used near towers that will hammer away at the monsters
while they are slowed down.
Power-Ups:

Bonuses: Occasionally, monsters will drop a bonus item after you have defeated them. When they do, send your villagers out to collect them. But, keep in mind that they need to return to their village before the bonus items are credited. The items you have collected will appear along the upper right corner of the game screen, with the number underneath alerting you to how many you can use.
Increase
gold: This bonus increases your total amount of gold, which is reflected
by the number in the lower left corner of the game screen.
Increase
tower firing rate: This bonus increases your tower's rate of fire,
meaning your towers will fire faster during battle. But, use them wisely as
they are good for a short amount of time.
Increase
tower damage dealt: This bonus increases the damage dealt by your towers
and are very effective against stronger enemies. Use this power-up wisely as
it's good for a short amount of time.
Increase
worker speed: This bonus temporarily increases your worker's speed.
Use it to build towers more quickly and collect bonuses in the blink of an
eye.
Lightning
strike: This bonus creates
a lightning strike which causes damage to all monsters on the screen.
Stop
time: This bonus stops the flow of time for everything but your workers.
While it is active, you can collect other bonuses as well as build and upgrade towers.
Decrease
monster speed: This bonus temporarily decreases monsters movement speed.
It is especially helpful when dealing with bosses and tougher monsters, or
where you have built a concentration of towers.
Scarecrow:
The scarecrow can be used to scare the monsters.
Cannon:
If the attacking horde gets too close, or out of hand, use the cannon to shoot at the monsters.
It has an extremely long range of attack.
Knight:
This knight statue isn't just for show. Use the help of the knight to attack
ground monsters approaching your village. I think we'll call this brave
knight "Ray", built after the storied 6th Game of the Curly Valley Series.
Dragon:
Unleash the dragon on unsuspecting ground monsters. The dragon will
swoop in and take them back to his nest.
Sunbeam:
The sun has always been a monsters worst enemy. Take out oncoming monsters
with this burst of sun, but make sure you use it sparingly as it takes some
time to power up again.
Mini-game:
Every now and then, you will get to save villagers and collect power-ups in
these mini-games. Navigate the screen using your mouse, making sure to avoid
to monsters, and lead the villagers back safely.
HUD:

Progress
bar: The progress bar in the upper left corner of the screen will display
the overall number of attacks coming and the number you have successfully
repelled.
Monster
meter: At the top of the screen there is an indicator which shows which
monsters will come next in their attack. The bigger the blue line, the more
flying monsters there will be; the bigger the green line, the more ground
monsters.
Number
of villagers: Some of the villagers will fall victim to your carelessness.
The number of surviving, active villagers will be displayed in the upper
left corner of the game screen.

Upgrade
Tower: When you click on a tower, the upgrade/sell window will appear in the
lower left corner. The top number, above the orange arrow icon, will display
the amount of gold required to upgrade the tower to the next level.
Sell
Tower: The number above the red 'X' displays the amount of gold you will
receive if you sell the selected tower.
Tips:
- Build your towers so that their range covers the biggest possible stretch of the road.
- Build the ground tower in places with a twist in the road to oppose the ground monsters. Build air towers in twists to combat flying monsters. Simple towers do better against bosses.
- Towers don't shoot at monsters that are inside tunnels. Build more ground towers at the exit of the tunnel and don't forget to upgrade your towers.
- Use the secret weapons available in some levels. These include the scarecrow, cannon and knight. See if you can find the others!
- Build special towers closer to the road as their range is not as far. Keep in mind that the monsters need to fall into the range of the towers for them to be effective.
- Build basic towers further back from the road as their range covers a larger area.
- Slowing towers are most effective if they slow down the monsters that are within range of other towers.
- Use the speed boost bonus to collect bonuses and build enough towers as fast as possible.
- Build aura towers close enough to other towers so that they are covered by it's increased power.
- Sell towers that are not effective and replace them with longer-range ones.
- Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade!!!
