Under-17 youth squad to be trimmed
Coach Solomon Kaseke last week called 27 players into camp. He said though they did not know anything about their opponents, preparations for the game going on smoothly.
We have never played Malawi before and we no not know anything about their strengths or weaknesses, but we are preparing to meet any situations, said Kaseke.
The team, which started training last week, has been meeting twice a day at the National Sports Stadium. It was still not clear when the Malawian team would arrive as they had not yet communicated with the Zimbabwe Football Association. The Young Warriors, who eliminated Mauritius with a 7-0 aggregate in the first round, will travel to Malawi for the second leg tie scheduled for the weekend of 10-12 January next year.
The winners will play either Nigeria Egypt or Liberia in the final qualifier. The finals of the tournament will be hosted by Swaziland next year.
